CASE STUDY: REIMAGINING THE DIGITAL PRESENCE OF TY WELLNESS

Updated: Sep 25

T.Y. Wellness is one of Los Angeles’ most trusted acupuncture and herbal medicine centers. Known for their excellence in Traditional Chinese Medicine, they consistently rank at the top of Yelp and Google for “Best Acupuncturist in LA.” Their reputation was stellar—rooted in five-star reviews and word of mouth—but their website wasn’t keeping pace with their real-world impact.

The problem? Their site was outdated, not mobile-friendly, and virtually invisible in search results. Built on Wordpress, it was vulnerable to hackers and code injection, and Google flagged it  as ‘suspicious malware’, so many browsers didn’t even give visitors access to the site. For a practice that lives at the intersection of ancient healing and modern urban wellness, the online presence didn’t reflect the depth, warmth, or credibility of their care.

The Aim

To create a digital home that:

  • Reflects the authenticity and quality of the T.Y. Wellness team

  • Communicates their expertise in a warm, accessible, and modern way

  • Translates their 5-star offline reputation into an equally resonant online presence

  • Balances the traditional roots of Chinese medicine with a clean, contemporary feel

The Approach

At Studio LXR, we believe design is frequency—and for T.Y. Wellness, the goal was to tune their digital identity to the energy of healing, trust, and care.

  • Minimalist, elevated design: We stripped away the clutter of the old site and replaced it with a clean, contemporary UI that feels both professional and welcoming.

  • Earthy, soft tones: Color palettes inspired by nature to evoke grounding, warmth, and holistic care.

  • Visual storytelling: Full-screen imagery, parallax scrolling, and authentic photography to showcase the human side of their work.

  • SEO-optimized copy: Patient-friendly language that educates and inspires trust while ensuring their website appears in relevant searches.

  • Typography: Classic clean sans-serif + subtle serif, legible fonts to communicate professionalism and calm. accents for professionalism

  • Tone of Voice → Calm, compassionate, and informative—matching patient care

The result is a website that balances tradition and modernity—just like their practice. While the logo was preserved for continuity, every other element was reimagined to create a cohesive brand experience that patients could trust before they even booked an appointment.

The Outcome

The redesigned ty-wellness.com now serves as a digital reflection of what patients already know: T.Y. Wellness is a center of healing excellence. The new site strengthens their online credibility, enhances discoverability, and most importantly, conveys the care and passion that defines their practice.

Takeaway for Clients

This project shows how even a practice with a stellar reputation offline can be held back by an outdated online presence. With the right resonance-driven design, a brand’s digital home becomes an extension of its values, amplifying reach and deepening trust.

For Studio LXR, this project was a reminder that design isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about resonance. When a brand’s digital presence aligns with its essence, the result is magnetic.
